Ätherisches Öl – Rose absolute (rosa demascene)
The Damask rose group is a cultivated form with a rich, intoxicating fragrance from Asia Minor and belongs to the rose family. Rose oil is very precious, so 60 rose petals are needed for each drop of rose oil. Absolutes are the highly concentrated essential oils from plants that cannot be extracted by steam distillation. Process: Hexane dissolves the essential oils from the flowers and then evaporates them by distillation. The resulting concentrate is a milky, fragrant paste, which is mixed with alcohol, heated, and then filtered.
